ForewordHello everyone, I'm Mr. Lin. In recent years, with rapid development of Internet of Things technology, popularity of smart phones and network surveillance cameras, mobile phone remote monitoring can be easily achieved. When you go out, use your mobile phone to monitor your home, shop, anti-theft, pet and child monitoring. These scenes were unimaginable ten years ago, but can be easily realized today. The following describes how to implement video surveillance from a mobile phone. Text
Required equipment: webcam, router, smartphone - these three devices are required. Smartphones are available to everyone and they don't have to cost money. Broadband and routers are also essential at home. The only thing worth money is camera. High-definition cameras are now very cheap, usually costing a few hundred yuan. .
The main equipment of a video surveillance system includes surveillance cameras, DVR hard disk recorders, network NVR hard disk recorders, displays or monitors. The interface of DVR and NVR is relatively rich. Common video surveillance equipment interfaces include BNC analog video interface, RJ45 network interface, VGA/DVI/HDMI video output interface, RS485 control interface, audio interface, alarm interface, etc. Accurately identify interfaces of cameras, DVRs and NVRs , which allows you to quickly build a video surveillance system and simplify system debugging.
From a functional point of view, function of a monitoring device can be defined by identifying interface of device. For example, in addition to network port, network camera also has a BNC interface for VIDEO video signal output, which means that network camera can also output analog video signals that can be output locally. As another example, a DVR or NVR device with an ALARM I/O interface means that it can be connected to switching signal of other systems or devices and can be used for alarm communication; if it has an AUDIO interface, it means that device can collect audio. The USB interface has now become standard configuration of DVR and NVR equipment, and can be connected to a USB mouse to control and directly control equipment. The wiring diagram for various control equipment is as follows.
Understanding wiring diagrams of cameras, DVRs, and NVRs makes it easy to set up monitoring without asking for help. Based on above technical specifications of video surveillance products, there are three solutions for home use, using four cameras as an example.
1. Cloud Storage
4 cameras + cloud storage + mobile app.
Benefits: Minimal hardware investment, less maintenance, cloud space can be bought for as long as you use it, and for how long you can buy while you use it; videos are safe (compared to local storage) and videos can be viewed even when local device is offline.
Disadvantages: The cost of cloud space is not cheap compared to SD cards and hard drives and requires a long-term investment. Typically, fees are charged monthly, quarterly, or annually.
2. SD card
4 cameras + 4 SD cards + mobile app
Benefits: An SD card is a one-time investment and is cheaper than cloud storage.
Disadvantages: After disconnecting local network, video cannot be viewed remotely, and of course live video cannot be viewed, but this is not most important thing. Most importantly, if local device (camera) is damaged or taken down, nothing.
3. NVR Solution
4 cameras + 1 NVR + 1 hard drive + mobile app
Advantages: The cost of long-term use is lower than cloud storage, and the storage time can be very long, three months or half a year is not a problem. Local storage is easier to protect privacy.
