With increasing security awareness, more and more monitoring professionals are emerging. For beginners who have just joined industry, they can start by installing simplest monitoring equipment first. Only by constantly accumulating experience and technology in practice, you can stay alone and grow quickly.
As a beginner, you need to master 4 transmission methods set in network monitoring system. How to make a suitable design plan according to customer requirements and actual situation on site depends on our professionalism. Today I will share with you 4 ways to install a network monitoring system, hoping to help you.
01, IP camera + power supply + network cableIn complex wiring, power cables and network cables must be run at same time, and power supply can also be powered by 220V AC nearby, which saves power cables, and its advantages and disadvantages will not be discussed here. Provide power to each IP camera. There is another network cable to transfer network data to NVR HDD NVR.
This saves power cord compared to previous method. The network camera only needs a network cable as a signal transmission medium, and power cord is no longer needed. For a network cable, unshielded twisted-pair category 5e is sufficient, and there is no problem with a transmission distance of 100 meters.
Why PoE switches are now widely used as network monitoring systems, which have following advantages:
1. Save wires, save wiring time, save wiring labor, and improve engineering efficiency.
2. No power supply, no strong electricity, no risk of electric shock, less chance of failure and lower maintenance costs.
3. Reducing design complexity, simple and convenient, easy to use, and engineering wiring is more beautiful.
03, IP camera + optical fiber + transceiverAs we said before, network cable transmission is usually within 100 meters, and if it exceeds 100 meters, we usually consider fiber optic transmission. Optical fiber not only has a long transmission distance (can transmit 20 kilometers), but also has a stable effect.
We all know that when data is transmitted over optical fiber, data signal is converted into an optical signal for transmission, and then optical signal is converted into a data signal, so we use fiber optic transceivers to complete job.
Optical fiber is cheap and has a long transmission distance, so it is widely used in monitoring projects. However, optical fiber needs to be spliced, and splicing equipment is expensive, so generally, splicing must be done by a special person, which requires a certain amount of money and time. Fiber optic transceivers are divided into 100M and 1000M, which can be selected according to number of cameras.
04, camera + wireless bridgeIn specific implementation environment of monitoring system, if wiring is difficult to meet natural barriers or insurmountable obstacles, we can use wireless transmission methods to use wireless bridges.
For example, wireless transmission methods are applicable to residential areas with fortified roads, elevators, operating factories, open areas with long distances, and wilderness.
A wireless bridge can convert network signals into radio waves for point-to-point transmission. Use in pairs. With directional point-to-point transmission, wireless transmission over long distances, from hundreds of meters to tens of kilometers, can be realized.
Notes on building wireless bridges: There must be no cover or obstruction between transmitting and receiving sides. So signal transmission will be stable.
The above four methods are four transmission methods commonly used in network monitoring systems. When we carry out specific monitoring projects, we must choose most appropriate transmission method according to facility's environment and requirements of owner, so that we can This not only allows owner to spend least amount of money, but also does not affect monitoring effect of project.
