This is eighth part of a series about monitoring and security. Today I will tell you about installation method of surveillance cameras. Camera installation is divided into analog cameras and network cameras.
Senior security professionals automatically skip this article as it is easiest common sense, this article is suitable for beginners and people outside industry to learn and share.
Despite fact that analog cameras are currently not very common, according to camera manufacturers, market for analog cameras is still quite large. Let me talk about equipment that is usually required to install analog cameras. :
1, analog camera (one or more)
2, VCR with hard disk (or video capture card)
3. Video cable (or network cable instead of video cable)
4, BNC video cable adapter
5, camera power
6. Brackets (including posts outside)
7. Terminal display device (add a monitor to DVR, and a computer with a monitor to capture card)
When installing from end of camera to end of display, we first connect video cable to camera (we will not discuss built-in wiring), it is directly connected to BNC and video head of camera, and other one of cameras is power connector of power supply, we connect it to camera power supply, and power supply is usually DC12V.

Then there is a power cord in middle, connect video cable to capture card or DVR at control end, capture card is installed on host computer, so if you need capture card as control end, you need host computer support, but control If terminal is a DVR, host computer is not needed as long as there is a display device.
After installing connection and monitoring hardware, install appropriate software to configure software. Although each manufacturer's software is not necessarily same, they are generally same. You can install it according to manual.
Then Installing IP camera what hardware is usually required:
1, network camera (one or more)
2, hard disk video recorder (NVR or pc-nvr include software)
3, router or switch
4, network cable and RJ45 network crystal head
5, Brackets (including posts outside)
6, terminal display device
Internet camera interface
When installing, we will also swipe from end of camera to end of display. Connect network camera to network cable interface, and then plug all network cable connectors of camera into router or switch. Now there is more POE Connect switch or network cable interface at one end of router to connect with corresponding NVR control device.
Here, connection is divided into two types, one requires an NVR and other does not need an NVR. The one that needs an NVR is basically an embedded NVR as we often say, and one that doesn't need an NVR is what we call a pc-NVR i.e. webcam software.
In addition to above two types of monitoring with VCRs or computers, if we want to set up remote monitoring of a mobile phone, if we have a mobile phone with Internet access (WiFi/4G is suitable), please download software application corresponding to security equipment, and then we can remote control via mobile phone.
