1. Wireless Access Point (AP) Mode
In this mode, device is equivalent to a wireless switch. It can realize access between wireless network, wireless to wired network, wireless to wide area network. The most common one can provide access to a wireless client, for example: access to a wireless network card, etc.
In AP mode, you can easily convert wired network transmission to wireless. If you already have a wired router and want to use a wireless network, then this method is just right for you.
2. WDS Mode
In WDS mode, each device connects to each other through a MAC address, and SSID, channel, password, and encryption method must match
2.1.WDS point-to-point bridge mode (WDS-P2P)
Connecting two wired LANs through two wireless access points can realize wireless connection and resource sharing between two wired LANs, as well as wired network expansion. In this mode, access point does not support wireless client access and can only be used as a wireless bridge.
2.2.WDS Bridge Mode Point-to-Multipoint (WDS-P2MP)
A point-to-multipoint wireless bridge can connect several separate wired networks into one, and its structure is more complex than that of a point-to-point wireless bridge. A wireless point-to-multipoint bridge typically uses a network as a central point to send wireless signals and other receiving points to receive signal. (In general, when the access point is in point-to-multipoint bridge mode, it supports up to 4 remote access points.) In this mode, it does not support wireless client access.
Point-to-multipoint mode allows you to connect multiple wired LANs through wireless access points without using network cables. This is applicable to network environments that require a data connection but are inconvenient for wiring; if "Root AP" is set to "For multipoint mode, other (up to 4) remote APs must be set to point-to-point mode".
3. WISP Mode
WISP is used to connect your own wireless device's wan port to another party's wireless network via a wireless network to surf Internet. The IP address of LAN port is assigned by your own DHCP

WDS needs to set its own Mac address on another router or access point
4. Wireless Repeater Mode
In repeater mode, you can achieve signal relaying and amplification, thereby expanding coverage area of your wireless network. Suitable for places where site is relatively open and it is not convenient to lay Ethernet cables. In this mode, it can support wireless client access at same time.
Access Point Wireless Relay Mode: Each device can be connected to each other via MAC address. When distance between two LANs exceeds maximum transmission distance allowed by wireless LAN products, or there are strong or strong interference obstacles between two networks, a wireless relay solution can be used.
5. Wireless Client Mode
In this mode, each device connects to each other via MAC address, and LAN port of device connects to Ethernet interface of wired network card, and device can be used as a wireless network card. When you choose this method, you must use a wired network card, or connect to device via a wired network, because this way device will be used as a wireless network card, please install device in same network as network you are using.
